Hello dear friends!

Nearly three years ago, I wrote what I thought would be the final post ever written on this blog. At the time I published it, I was barely writing anything anyways. My posting schedule had fallen apart amid too many college classes, and I was barely reading. I quit blogging officially in 2019, and that year I only read 4 books. As a book blogger, this meant that even if I had been able to make the time to write, I wouldn’t have had anything to write about.

Since quitting, I also stopped reading other people’s blogs. I simply didn’t have the time, and I ended up falling out of touch with just about everyone I would have considered by friend back in the blogging days. Write Through the Night had been actively updated multiple times a week for 3 years, and then I just stopped. Because of how busy I was, it took a long time to start missing that part of my life. I was caught up in my real life– going to parties, doing homework, applying for jobs– and I didn’t have time for the blog life where I spent nearly all of my later high school years.

Now that my life has settled down, though, I have found myself missing blogging. At the time of writing this, I’ve already read 31 books this year, which is as much as I was reading even at the peak of my blogging days. I ‘ve started spending more time reading other people’s blogs, not just book blogs but writing in general on the internet. It’s made me feel inspired to make a comeback, and given my current work schedule I believe it’s something feasible. I could actually do this.

That brings me to this post. I’m making a blogging comeback!

What Does That Mean?

To be honest, I don’t know exactly what a return to blogging means for me yet. I have spent the past couple of months reading other people’s blogs to get an idea for what’s happening in the blogging community, and it’s clear that book blogging as a concept is sort of dying out. I want to share my love of reading with all of you, so books will certainly be at the center of my blog identity, but I’m not going to limit myself to that as I did in the past. I’m hoping that this can be a books/tv/writing/lifestyle blog, and that my personality will be entertaining enough for you to want to read it all.

On a practical level, this means that I’m creating an absolutely insane posting schedule for myself that I’m unsure if I’ll be able to keep. For those of you that are curious, here it is:

  • TV SHOW TUESDAY: A weekly feature where I talk about whatever I’ve been watching on TV that week. This may turn into recaps of a show that’s on, or just a roundup of many different shows that are out there
  • THURSDAY: This will be miscellaneous book content days. Think tags, memes, lists… Anything book related that isn’t a review will come out this day
  • SATURDAY BOOK REVIEWS: My plan is to publish a book review every Saturday. This means reading a minimum of 52 books in a year, yes, but I think I can manage it because of the backlog that I have to review, and through a combination of audiobooks and written books.
  • MONDAY: This day will be a bit more optional, and most Mondays there won’t be any content at all, but I am allotting this day to myself for anything I want to write about that doesn’t necessarily fit into any of the above catagories.

So! You can expect at least three posts a week from me, 2 of which are going to be about books, 1 tv show, and 1 miscellaneous. If there’s ever anything you’re interested in reading about, make sure to let me know so that I can write about it.

What Have I been Up To?

In 2019 I was halfway through my second year of college. Since then, I managed to graduate one semester early amid a pandemic. I graduated in January 2021 with a degree in computer science, and started working my full time job as a software engineer in August.

Shortly after I stopped blogging I started a Youtube channel, which you should definitely check out because it gives big insight into my life and what I was doing for the past two years. I vlogged about my life as a college student, playing D3 college basketball, and just having fun with my friends! I’ll probably continue updating that every once in a while so stay tuned for updates.

In terms of writing, I haven’t been doing much outside of my notebook. That’s part of the reason I want to get back into blogging again. I have so many thoughts that need to be written down and shared with the world.

How Can I Help?

If you are currently a blogger, link your blog below! Some of the best part of blogging to me is getting to interact with other bloggers. Consider this post a safe space to self promote your blogs, Twitters, or anywhere else where we can be friends!

If you enjoy reading book blogs, or even if you used to read this blog but now hate book blog content, let me know what types of content you want to see from me! I want to write things that you want to read, so that starts with you.

Okay, Let’s Do This!

The weird thing about writing this is that I’m not even sure if anyone will read this post. I used to be able to write literally whatever and know that people would read what I had to say. Now, I have lost over 100 followers, and of the ones I still have I have no way of knowing who is active. There is a large part of me that knows it would almost be easier to start anew than revive this blog. Still, I love what I have written here and I want to continue it, even if it means dealing with a partially dead audience.

I decided to start blogging again in early November 2021, but decided to wait to actually post anything until now, December! The reason for this is that I want time to create a backlog of posts, update my About Me page, decide on a theme for the blog photos and templates, and find out what type of trends are going on in the blogging world. The past two months have been filled with tons of behind the scenes effort so that this launch will go as smoothly as possible.

If you’re new here, make sure to give the blog a follow. If you’re already following, thanks for sticking with me! I’m excited to (re)start this journey together.
