Write Through the Night—and associated podcasts— are currently 100% volunteer run. I (Jocelyn) work hard to run this site myself and provide my writers with a unique place where they can be free to write about whatever interests them. That is only possible if this site stays alive! Your donations are necessary for us to continue to keep this little slice of the internet alive.

How We Use Your Donations

First and foremost, donations are used to cover all of the above expenses. After we hit net positive revenue, we will begin paying our writers for all of their hard work! Writers pitch all of their own ideas, write the pieces, respond with edits, and then promote their posts on social media to attract a bigger audience. This is a ton of work, and most certainly deserves to be paid!

At the end of each year, I divide up 100% of our net revenue evenly among all staff writers based on how many posts that they wrote that year. We have made enough money this year to cover our domain name budget, but we are still in the red when it comes to the other expenses listed above, which means that not only are staff writers working for free, but I am paying out of pocket to keep this website alive. Any contributions would be greatly appreciated!
